When it comes to short-term requirements, people all across the world are reconsidering long-term investments. Rental services grew in popularity as customers began to reconsider their investing decisions. Rental services began with real estate and have since expanded to include home décor rentals. Rental services have benefited from a changing culture and the millennial desire for perpetual change.
When it comes to planning meetings and workplace events, rental services have proven to be beneficial. Many startups have used the rental business to get off the ground without burning a hole in their pockets. Individuals have found that renting is an appropriate money management solution because of their shifting lifestyle.  Any product you can think of is available for rent right now. Managing rentals, on the other hand, is no easy task.
A rented product is a client-dealer relationship that has been extended. It all starts with the purchase of the item. It is not something to brush up on at the time of repair or warranty realization, unlike a purchased good. It's a long-term contract that won't end until the product is safely returned. And maintaining a sense of balance when managing many rentals is essential.
In today's industry, rental services are up against the severe competition. It is critical that we maintain the quality and standard of the rental products, as well as provide excellent service. It should come as no surprise to anyone who runs a rental service that, unless systemic, it may be a major headache. The Odoo Rental module is a software solution for organizing and systematizing your rental business.

Odoo apps can be used to install the Odoo Rental module. Odoo Rental covers all aspects of your rental service, from scheduling to billing a rented product. All of the products available for rent, as well as their rental status, will be displayed on the rental dashboard. By clicking on the specific order, you can see all of the specifics of the rental order.

When we click on an order, a new window containing the order's details emerges. On the top-left, there is an opportunity to change and modify the order. We can also generate a new order right from the dashboard or the order details page.  From here, we may generate an invoice for the rental order as well as arrange for pickup. From the window, we can see the customer preview and mail the order. From here, we may generate an invoice for the rental order as well as arrange for pickup. Create a new purchase order
We will be led to a new page when we click the create button. We can enter all of the customer's information, such as name, address, and so on. We can also set an order's expiration date. The payment period can be adjusted to either immediate or a specific time frame.
We can add products for the quotation on the order lines tab. To choose from the available products, click on add a product. From the tax options, we can also choose the tax on the product.
In the following tab, we may add optional products. Feed sales and delivery information will be available on the other tab. We can confirm and send it by email once everything is finished. The dashboard will then show the newly created order.
Orders
Orders and clients can be sorted and managed using the orders menu on the top bar. From this option, we can also filter and view the day's pickup and return.

The customer menu will provide a list of all current customers. In this window, we can create new clients. By selecting the customer, you may change their existing information.
 Scheduled Rentals
This window will show you the current month's rental schedule.
On the appropriate product column, the customer's name and order quantity are displayed. We can change the view to daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. The order conflicts will also be highlighted in this overview.

Returns
We can use the return button from the sales order to return a rented product. This will bring up a pop-up window with product information. This pop-up can be used to validate the return.
Product
We may access all of the products offered by clicking on the products menu. Then create a new product by using the create button. We can type in the product's name and see if it's available for sale, rent, or purchase. It is possible to enter the product category, kind, and other details. Depending on the service, we can additionally provide an HSN/SAC number and a description in addition to the barcode. It is possible to enter product variants, billing policies, and shipping information.
The rental tab will display if the product has been chosen to be rented. We can insert the rental service's information. The e-commerce and buy tab will appear depending on the parameters selected. We can enter duration, unit, and address under the renting tab.

Configuration
The default minimum time between orders is set in the configuration. This is referred to as padding time.
This ensures that rental orders do not conflict. The default delay charges for rental orders can also be added. Furthermore, we have the option of having the customer sign the document digitally on the spot. We can use a template to create a digital document, such as a rental agreement in this case.

The rental analysis will be displayed in the reporting menu. This menu allows you to create a quantity-based report. Every day, it is based on the number of orders, pick-ups, and deliveries. There are a variety of graphical displays to choose from, as well as the option to view pivot.

There's also the option of comparing the report to the previous year and period.
